I am a huge fan of mystery books and this book completely had me on edge. As a bookworm I love reading books that take me out of my comfort zone.
Bob Brink is genius. At first I didn't feel sorry for the main character Mitt Hecher, but as the story progressed I began to feel empathy for him.
I cannot begin to fathom how Hecher felt for being falsely accused of a murder he did not commit. His emotional journey, keeping himself occupied by teaching karate lessons in prison.
His love for his wife and son the reasons to keep going and never giving up. The change in his attitude and lifestyle shaped him to be a better person, husband, father and man.
Although it took 15 years to get an appeal trial he never lost faith. He never turned into a bitter person. Brink developed Hecher's character well..
At one point I felt justice would never be served for the murder of Roger Kringer. I love how Brink puts into words that sometimes the justice system is a joke, but that not all people in powerful positions are heartless.
If you want to read about a man's struggle to survive prison life as an innocent man and his reasons for not giving up "Murder In Palm Beach" is an excellent read.
I couldn't put it down. I felt I needed to know how the story ended for Hecher. I wanted to know if justice would ever be served.
Thank you Mister Brink for an awesome book and for signing it for me.
